1 week post hysterectomy: Unrelated pain resurfacing after surgery

So weird that I've been having cramps in my knee. I also noticed swelling and tender, feels weak. I had partial knee replacement 3 years ago then about 1 and a half ago had lateral miniscule repair all on my left knee. Since surgery it's been the same and it doesn't seem to be getting better. So I'm thinking it's due to the surgery in some way shape or form. I'm no doctor but do you all think it's due to the surgery? Should I contact my PCP, the gyn surgeon or the orthopedic surgeon who worked on my knee? I feel like either way it's not getting better so I have to go get it checked, but want to get right to it.

Re: 1 week post hysterectomy: Unrelated pain resurfacing after surgery

It could be from the position you were in during surgery. If your uterus was removed vaginally, your feet were probably placed in stirrups and bound there, which may have discombobulated your knee. If you had laparoscopic incisions, you were probably placed in the Trendelenburg position, with your head lower than your torso.

Definitely the gyn surgeon isn't likely to know a lot about knees. I'd suggest your ortho surgeon if you can get into see them without unreasonable difficulty, otherwise your PCP.

Thank you, good points made. Yes, it was removed vaginal and laparoscopic. I haven't had a chance to go to the Dr, but now I know it makes sense to go see my PCP first.
