knee joint pain

I went to see my orthopedic doc because I had such pain in my right arm. and I had aches everywhere and his first question to me was what meds are you on. When I told him about the gluc, lupron, climara, and lipitor he said right away it was the lipitor or the lupron. I had been taking lipitor before the lupron and did not have these aches and pains so he said he was sure it was the Lupron and asked if my ob/gyn had told me about the side effects.
When I told him no, he just shook he head and got even madder when I told him that I had already asked the ob/gyn if he knew what could be causing the pain.
The orthopedic doc told me that there are huge kick backs offered for these high end drugs, and asked why I was using the lupron anyway when it is only recommended for a six month course of treatment. That being another surprise to me. My insurance will not cover it either.
Needless to say I got an education from a doc that seemed to be more informed and concerned for me than my own ob/gyn. I am still dealing with the lupron because it was a 3 month injection, but it made me mad enough to go to my family practice dr and say enough is enough, I want my hysterectomy. She in turn went to the ob/gyn and it is now scheduled for Nov. 12.
I encourage you to research your meds and be your own advocate!!
Good luck and hope you find a pain free body soon.
