A Friend is in need
Hello everyone. I have a close friend whose husband was just diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphomia (am sure the spelling is not right but hopefully readable lol). The whole family is falling apart and am sure that all of us still remember the shock of diagnosis. Anyway...my medical friends.... does anyone have any info for me to give to them in terms of where to get emotional support or talk to others with this kind of cancer.
Any information you can give me and them would be greatly appreciated.. thanks
Rosalie

Step daughter had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma
Rosalie,
I have a step daughter that had non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and has beat it. She was diagnosed when she was still in high school. Since then, she is now 33, married, and has three wonderful sons. She has went thru Chemo and radiation. She still worries about her appointment to check on her status. But has passed everyone. So far she has been in remission for 15+ years. If I am able to I will have her write you.

A Friend is in need
Hi Rosalie,
I am very sorry to hear of your friends diagnosis.
I know of a man who works in my building at work who was diagnosed 2 years ago, and is in remission and doing well. He has other issues like diabetes, so for alot of the time he is not feeling great, but he is doing well.
I did a google search and Yahoo have a support group for this.
Here is the site address if you would like to check it out and see if it would be a good place for him to gain information and support.

All the best to him!!
Hugs

I am so sorry to hear about your friend's husband.
There are many kinds of NHL. Some being more aggressive than others.
And you are so right. That time around the initial diagnosis is just so difficult for everyone.
They surely have a great friend and role model in you.

Nothing beats good reports from real people! But you might also check out the fyi of links. It's at the top of this forum--many of the big cancer sites have information about all kinds of cancers and connections to other kinds of support.
