Hospital interview before my Dec.5 TAH

I had my hospital interview: A nurse asked me a lot of questions then I saw the anesthesiologist. We talked about the general anesthesia:the part I dread the most. I get really scared when they start my IV. I hope that everything will be O.K. I will be sooo relieved when this is over.

Don't you hate it when the doctor lets you know about all the possible complications of that surgery?

Have you considered a spinal or epidural? Maybe you don't need to be put under at all. If you're interested, ask your doctor and the anesthesiologist about it.

Hi, Amalita, I'm that everything will go well for you. I'm the opposite from you - I get calm after the iv (maybe because the wait is finally over).I also like to know what might happen , I feel so lucky when it all goes well. With all the prayers you're getting here you'll be just fine.

Hi! I HATE the whole IV thing but learned a little trick a few years ago- TELL them you hate it and ask if they can use the teensy, tiniest needle to give you some novacaine FIRST! It's less sting then a beesting and it helps soooo much! You won't feel the IV at all! This has actually become a rather common procedure.
