No More Paps

Well I got a good report today, The Dr. said everything looked good "in there"and he doesn't think I need to get pap smears anymore. We discussed the fact I went off estrogen since I had seen him. He suggested Remifemin. So I guess I'll give it a try. I didn't mess up the paper too much when I scooched! Candy

Hi candy

great news on your check-up. I need to know something. Did your gyne say NO MORE PAPS?? EVER?? I always thought that you needed to get at least one yearly.
Am I wrong??

Good Scootching! Good News!

I wonder too about no more paps ever. I asked my gyn who did the surgery about that and he said that even though he had removed the cervix, there could be some cervical cells still left in there and that I should have paps every 6 months. (ugh!) But your news is excellent!

It sounds like you had a great checkup!!! Congrats.
I still get a PAP every six months on my vaginal cuff.
Perhaps the need for a PAP on the vaginal cuff is determined by the type of cancer we had.

Great news!!!! Sounds like you had a great checkup!!!

I'm confused too, lol. I thought the smears continued at least once a year period just testing the vaginal area instead of the cervix??? Interesting.

Well, I hope you'll do some celebrating today!!! Thanks for sharing your wonderful news!!!

No More Paps

I should have asked if he meant no more paps ever. I didn't really think about it until I got home. He said by looking inside you can tell if it is suspious. It has been 3 years and he told me at the time of surgery I would probably have paps for 5 years. I don't know, I guess I'll ask when I see him next year. Candy
