10 Weeks Post-Op - Heavy Bleeding

Since I got up this morning I have been bleeding heavily (enough to wear a pad...thank goodness I didn't trash them all). It is mostly bright red with a very small amount of clotting. I am 10 weeks post op from a Radical Hyst so I know that there is absolutely no way it is a period. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen. If it doesn't stop by 3:00 I will call my doctor (I read the archives and it seems that for most the bleeding stops on it own so I am hoping mine will too).

If it aint one thing, it's another.

Sandi,
I would call the doctor NOW. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
Be sure and let us know how you're doing.
Hugs :-)

I agree with Kim, you should call your doctor sooner than you have planned. Let us know how you are doing.

Wait and see what happens

I did call my doctor around lunch time and he said to stay off my feet today and tomorrow and that if it continues tomorrow that I will need to come in to his office. Although it is not as heavy, I am still spotting pretty good. Hopefully by morning it will have stopped because I really don't need to miss any more work. I have only been back two weeks after having been off for 6 months for cancer treatments and then my hyst. But don't send the pillow police just yet because I will do as the good doctor said...off my feet (easy to do because Survivor is on!)

Sandi, I love Survivor too!!! I don't quiet unterstand what your Doc told you. You shouldn't be bleeding at eight weeks post. Right Sisters? Even if your Doc thinks this isn't an emergency..it would seem to me that he would want to see where this blood is comming from. I know I bled, only a little, after sex, a couple of months post-op and my Doc wanted to see me. It turned out to be granulation on the vaginial cuff. But it was VERY little blood and I didn't need to wear a pad. I vote you get this checked out.
Can you believe it...it was Gervas! I was hopeing it would be Richard! LOL (((Hugs))) Babs

10 Weeks Post-Op - Heavy Bleeding

My doctor seems to be an altogether different breed. That was why I was hesitant to call him in the first place. He seemed to transform from a wonderful, caring and compassionate doctor pre-op to a dismissive, curt and non-compassionate doctor immediately post op. I would find another doctor but he is a gyn oncologist and considered the best in the area. I mainly try to deal with his nurses whenever possible. At least they are okay. The other part of my hesitancy is that I loathe the thought of ending up in a hospital again. During my journey thru cancer I have already been in a hospital three times this year alone. Enough to last me a lifetime. Not to mention all the testing involved. I am finally not feeling like a human pincushion.

I am still spotting a little but not near as much. If it happens at all tomorrow I will ask to be seen. Hopefully it won't be anything serious. Right now I am more concerned about not being able to fall asleep (nerves).

As for Survivor...previews for this week showed a picture of Rich wearing the immunity idol so I knew his number wasn't up just yet (he got lucky...hopefully soon though). I was shocked about Gervase.
