Well, tomorrow, 12/9 routine CBC

now that's exciting. ** hum... My only concern is that if the abs neutrophils don't go up from 1.3 that I'll need Neupogen shots--I shiver at the word "shots." I do tihnk if the hemoglobin has gone much lower it'll be blood transfusion time, so I'm taking Shullet the Hippo just in case. I am also going to be praying that if I do get blood "up on the floor" that the hospital-food lunch is better than last time. They ruined Tater Tots! No one can ruin Tater Tots but a hospital!

Vicki--Good Luck the 16th and 19th

Platelet blood check--may it be good with at least 150,000 of those little guys--that's normal.

Colonoscopy--I just at the thought of one and that lovely you have to drink. I have thus far escaped that fate.

Chicken Maria.....CT scan Dec. 19th First one in 2 years...yikes....I really don't want to do this. I am convinced if they look close enough they will see something in there somewhere!!! But then I decided they WOULDN'T DARE give me bad news that close to they must be pretty sure its gonna be ok.

Hey Vicki...I'll come to your colonoscopy with ya if you come to my scan with me! Mines at 8:10 AM Kinda early to have to drink that crap they make us drink I say!!!

Ellen, you will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow for those Neutrophils...and the tater tots if you are staying for lunch!!

You betcha Maria!!! I'll come with you to your CT Scan, although since you asked, I have to arrive for my colonoscopy at 7:30 am. You SURE you wanna?

Oh yeah! I just had a CT Scan done last month so yeap, remember the lovely drink very well. It IS so true that it tastes better if you can get it real cold, not great but better.

I can't remember which type of prep I have to do before this test, but that is certainly the part I'm NOT looking forward to.

Good luck to you too Maria!!

The calendar is looking very empty!

I have an appt with the chemo dr on Wednesday. I am not sure why. I think he just wants to see me before the 2nd round of chemo which will be Dec 17, 18, 19.

I had a blood test last week and white counts, platelets were ok. Red's were low. The one that measures anemia was 9 and normal is 12 , but I've been hovering around 9 since May,so that can't be blamed on the chemo. They gave me procrit, want me to have it weekly.

Ok Vicki...since your appt is first, I will GLADLY postpone my scan to come with you!!!!!!! Really...hey we're friends...I don't mind in the least!!!!!! Then again.....8AM my time is 5AM your time and 7:30 your time is 10:30 my time....hey...maybe we can do both!!!!!!

Debbie, if I recall I think most of us had appts between rounds as a checkup to see how we were tolerating the treatments, to tell them how the anti nausea drugs were working, have blood work etc, and as I recall, these checkups were always a scootch appt as well to check things out. I can remember once saying to the nurse..."its not an exam today is it"?, and she actually laughed and said...."oh yeah...anytime you are here its going to be an exam appt.:!! We certainly get our share of scootching during chemo thats for sure!

All the best as you begin round 2 Debbie. You can do it!! !!

Maria Your Scan Will Be Fine

As soon as read what you wrote, what came into my mind was, "Oh, she's fine." Let me remind you about the contrast they give you though. Don't linger afterwards but head right home as they "spike" it with something to "help it move" through the intestines." That's the WORST part. Debbie, between-round checks of blood (or yourself) are common--they need to watch carefully that things aren't too low. Be with you in spirit but believe me, Vickie, I'll pass on your colonoscopy. Sorry. They give me the willies or heebie-jeebies just thinking about them!

Thanks Ellen for the vote of confidence!! From your "fingers" to Gods ear!!
You know....I was trying to think if that contrast had any effect on us, and I couldn't remember from the last one, as it was before my surgery, and I already knew at that point they were pretty sure we were dealing with cancer, so it was a rough day. I know I came right home after that one as I was off work by that time.
I was planning on going to work after this one, but now think I will indeed come right home.

I have to pick up a bottle of the gastro-graphite I think they called it, from the hospital the day before. Then if I recall correctly in the morning, they give me a juice box with something else in it, then hook up an IV and away we go!!

Hoping everything great with you today (((Ellen)))!!
