I am havng my 2nd chemo treatment this Tues thru Thurs this week and last time I had a bit of bone pain which I understand is common with Taxol. I remember some, Vicki, I think saying mega doses of B6 helped with this. bough some B6 and wondered how much should take? My dr. just suggested ibuprofen for the bone pain and it helped, but
i would like to try the vitamins

Hi Debbie.
I also had the bone pain with taxol and my doctor also said to take advil. It helped a little and then she gave me a stronger pain medicine which just zonked me out. Actually, the bone pain only lasted for 2 days so i dealt with it.
Before you take any vitamin supplements during chemo, please check with your doctor. My oncologist told me NOT to take anything while on chemo. All doctors may have different views but i would check first.
Hope this treatment is easier than the last.

I had six taxol treatments. And leg bone pain was a side effect for me as well. But oddly enough, not after every treatment. In fact, I believe it was only a problem for the first two treatments. And then never again. Hopefully, your bone pain will disappear as well.

Hiya Debbie!
I'm sorry you're having the bone pain hitting you.
Yes, I was told to take the extra B6, it helped with the pain as well as the neuropathy I was experiencing. I also was taking Glucosamine - Condroitin which I had already been taking for unrelated knee problems but it helped the pain a bit as well I think.
I wouldn't recommend taking the B6 without your Drs okay, it was okay in my case but might not necessarily be in yours. Mega doses of even vitamins will do more hurt than help in some cases.
I hope you will however, be able to get relief from the pain in some way. Let us know how it goes.
{{hugs}}

Some vitamins interfere with the chemo and make it less effective--so that's why you have to check about your chemo and which vitamins with your doctor. This isn't just caution but really important here in the CC forum.
