Ultrasound results are back
Well, I just talked to my doc a little bit ago. Apparently, I have a hemorrhagic cyst on my left ovary. Funny thing is, I'm having right sided pain. He said my left ovary is more than twice the size of my right one. I asked why I'm having right sided pain and if it was possible that they mixed up the right/left thing? He made it sound like it was not possible to mix those up! Now I know that things get mixed up all the time--like my biopsy a few months ago and they couldn't figure out which specimen came from which area. Oh, well. It's late--I'm sure he wasn't ready for a trick question like that. He really is the dearest man, and how devoted of a doc is that--to call you at 9:30 at night!! Most would let me wait until morning.
So, here's the plan. I'm having a CA125 done tomorrow. Then we'll do a repeat ultrasound in a couple of weeks and see if it's resolving. So, it's back to wait and see.....
Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers. They are much appreciated.
 's to all!

Ultrasound results are back
(((Jeanine)))))
I am so sorry you have to have more tests done, and more waiting.
It is very strange about the pain being on the opposite side. And Yes, wow....what a great doctor to call you in the evening! He obviously is very caring and knows the waiting is rough on his patients. He's a gem!!!
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers Jeanine for the upcoming tests!! You know we're all here to help with the waiting!
Huge Hugs!!

What a cool Dr, calling you that late to let you know the test results, sounds like he's covering all the bases with the blood work and recheck.
I hope that this cyst is something easily resolved and hopefully he'll figure out what's causing the pain.
Keep us posted and as always, lots of 's and prayers are being sent your way.

Ultrasound results are back
 s Jeanine
I think that pelvic organs can often cause referred type pain. Hence, it sure is possible that the opposite sided ovary could cause this discomfort.
How dare those darn ovaries cause you any problem. I often wonder about the wisdom of leaving them behind when having a hyster if any type cancer or even PCOS is involved. Too often on CC it seems they cause a problem down the road.
Hopefully your ca 125 will be just fine. You should be looking for a 35 or less.
Probably by the next ultrasound the problem will be resolved.
Is your pain still there?
I am saying a little prayer for your peace of mind during this time.

I'm so sorry about the pain your in. I am glad you saw your doctor and will be getting some tests to see what the heck this is.
The waiting is a killer, but I think everything will turn out fine.
Your doctor sounds very good and he will be covering everything, I'm sure.
Keep calm and think positive, it may well be just an infection, or some other dumb thing that happens now and then.
My prayers and good thought are with you.

Ultrasound results are back
Thank you all so much for your kind words. I had the blood draw this morning and should have results back by Tuesday. I know that chances are this is truly just a cyst and that things should be fine. I just hate that it's going on near the holiday. And even though the chances of it being more serious are slim, that just seems to be what I'm focusing on--the slim chance. Cancer-head shows its face again. Two years ago Christmas Eve I got the news that I was going to need a LEEP and D&C since my biopsy came back CIS. It's like a replay of that all over again.
Well, enough  . I've so much to do over the next few days, that I'm just sure the time will pass quickly. Thanks again.

Dear Jeanine,
I'm sorry you are having to go through the worry of this right now. I am praying that it is just a cyst and that is all!! "Cancer head" is miserable, always making us worry!! Hugs to you and try not to worry, it is probably nothing!

{{ Jeanine }},
What lousy timing, but I'm keeping only good thoughts for you. I do hate waiting for results. At my pap, I asked the Doc when he'd get back to me with the results. He said he'd call if there was a problem, but wouldn't call if everything was okay. So I said (typical cancerhead retort), when will you get the results so I know how long I have to worry!!
There's no escaping it. At least we know that with our cancer history, we'll never hear "Let's keep an eye on it for 6 months." Nothing will help our health more than proactive medical care.
Be sure to post when you get the results (and can stop worrying).
 s,
Laura
