Almost Ready
Hi to all-
I am a new "sister" who is also in the debate mode. My doctor has already scheduled surgery on 2/27/03 - a hopeful LAVH - although he won't guarantee it will turn out that way. I suffer mainly from miserable PMS which is becoming more debilitating each month. I have chronic migraine symptoms - primarily sound and light misery. Also suffer complete brain fog and confusion, basically I become MR. Hyde ( I think he was the bad one!). I'm finding that it's getting to be 10 days per cycle that I'm like this, including severe bleeding for two -three days and bad cramps, etc., etc., I'm sick of the whole thing! I'm 48, regular on my cycle, have a small, but growing fibroid in the uterus muscle, and doctor thinks I should lose the ovaries too. It seems to be the primary cause of all the PMS pain. I have been unsuccessful with birth control pills, and other hormones- weight gain, miserable one week off, etc.
After re-reading this, maybe I've really made my mind up. I'm scared of losing the ovaries and what will happen to my body after that...too much information out there!
Look forward to hearing from other brave sisters-enufalrdy

Hi, I'd like to welcome you to Hystersisters. This is such a wonderful website and I know you'll be able to find all the comfort and support you need here.
I kept my ovaries so I can't help with your concerns in that department but I'm sure other sisters will be along soon who can share their experiences.
Again, welcome!

I'm a new sister also having a Lavh
Hi
After two years of PMS, back pain, bloating, heaving bleeding, headaches and so much more. I have decided to have a Lavh Jan 6, 2003. These last six months have been horriable for me and my family. I'm tired of being tired and putting not just me, but everyone else that is around me in misery. They are taking my uterus and leaving everything else from what I understand. The only thing I am worried about now since months of research and finding Hyster Sisters is going back a short time later to have it all removed. My doctor tells me that I can go 10 years or even longer before that could happen. It still however is in the back of my head, and probably will be if and when that time comes. I know now this is the right choice for me, and that things can only get worse before getting better.
Thank You

Almost Ready
Hi,
I had a TAH/BSO in June of this year. I just turned 47 a couple of weeks ago. I am on 1mg of estradiol. I feel great and have lost 40 pounds since that date. My uterus was about 20 weeks gestation and my left ovary had cysts on it. I also had endo stage IV; which I didn't know until after the surgery.
NO REGRETS!
Jean
