hrt advise

Hi everyone and thanks for being out there...what a comfort. On Jan 22 I am going in for TAH. This will be my first surgery of any kind and I am a bit NERVOUS!

I have been reading posts on this sight daily and have found alot of comfort and information. Rather than reinventing the wheel, I would like to ask all you princesses out there what your experience with HRT has been. My Doc and I have not discussed the post surgery treatment, and I would prefer to be informed by you all.

Is there anything that works especially well after a TAH? Please advise.

Second thing, I really like transdermal administration. The patch is something you change twice a week instead of a daily dose. Other women have different preferences. Transdermal bypasses the liver and lots of advantages to that.

That's the high points for so late at night. If I think of anything else in the morning, I will repost.

I think there's a couple of things we learned here and we tend to say them all the time--

when it comes to hrt, one size does not fit all

go with the lowest dose that makes you feel good

listen to your own body

but give every change some time, because change itself will bring on symptoms for a couple of weeks after the change.

I think I would try a low dose Vivelle dot patch first if I'd had my choice, for a variety of reasons, but you'll find all kinds of solutions have worked around here.
