thanks for all the support

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to thank everyone for all the great information on this board. I have posted a few times. I had a TVH/BSO 12/11. I sufferred with adenomyosis for years, then in November I began having really bad pain. They thought it was my appendix, but after the CT scans were negative they called in my OB/GYN who agreed it was a flare up. We considered leaving the ovaries in place as I am only 33, but I also suffer from migraines around my periods and have multiple cancers in my family history, so we opted to take those. The pathology reports showed that my ovaries were covered in cysts, so it was a good thing they were removed. I also have not had a migraine since surgery. A miracle in itself
Anyway, this site is such a wealth of information. It's one thing for my doctor to assure me there is a sex life after hyst but at the same time I thought..."right, like he would know" So much better to hear from those who have been there. I am a registered nurse but I read all there was to read on this site.
So thanks for a ll the help, answers, support
Kristina

Kristina!

We have lots of things in common. I had a hyst for adenomyosis, had migraines related mainly to periods, and am also an RN. I was able to keep my ovaries though. It's been a year since my hyst and am soooooo glad not to have that monthly (really more often than a month) visitor! Yes, your dr is correct that there is a sex life post-hyst. Actually, it's even better now. The adeno used to keep me so worn out since my periods were so often, heavy, and caused lots of pain. Now, I have more energy and can enjoy all aspects of life much more.

s,
Pam
