Going back to school in your 30's....

Denise....I thought about that and wondered if teachers thought that way....only because I am one of the first to leave the lab because I have to get to work! If I could stay longer, I would. But they give us the option of coming in on the weekends. I plan on spending a few hours each weekend in the lab. I will do whatever it takes to get those A's!!! It's only week 2 of A&P, but so far I have a good grasp on the info being taught. I have been spending a couple hours a day reading and soaking in all kinds of interesting info. I'll keep you posted on how I do!

Well, they think that way because the kids who don't study are usually the first ones out the door. Tell your TA "Sorry, I've got to go to work now. I'm so glad I can come in on the weekends!" so they know you care. Courses are often curved and they'll often extend the curve a little for people they know are working hard.

Going Back to School

I graduated May 2004 with my Bachelor's of Science in Business Education. It only took me 10 years!! I am 43 years old and finally done. I took all of my courses online.

Take it slow and steady and you will see the end of the tunnel.

I am actually now thinking of starting on my Master's degree.

Good luck!

Going back to school in your 30's....

Congrats to all you hystersisters! I just got certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid (required for my part-time job) AND I just finished volunteer literacy training, which I'm very excited about! It fascinates me to see people learn how to read! (I'm 50, by the way.)

Congrats Betsy! I just graduated in May, took me ten years also! I just had my diploma framed and hung in the hallway so everyone who comes in our house can see it.

I'm here everyone on who is pursuing their goals.

I hope your niece listens. I was foolish when I graduated high school. I actually graduated via a GED, I did so well that my teachers were willing to explore scholarships for me. I decided to enter the workforce, figuring I didn't need that piece of paper. It is something that I will always regret.

How's everybody doing in school?

I took the semester off school this spring, taking a little break. But I tutored a friend who's about two years behind me in the pre-med process, so my life has had a fair amount of chemistry and physics in it. She rocked the house on her chem final last night, and her physics final is tonight! Go, Vita!

I can't believe I start med school in the fall. My last day at work just just over a month away, I've signed a lease on a new apartment, I'm getting ready to move, and then...med school. I'm excited today, though many days I'm just scared. Still, I've never felt so alive!
