5FU Treatments...anyone?

Hi!
I have had a TAH, April 2000 have had complications with infection after surgery had to be rehospitalized for infection.
I had visiting nurses 2x a day to dress and repack the incision.
I have had pap tests ,3 mo,6mo, 1 year and that came out abnormal.
I had a colposcopy and was sent by my doctor to a gyn/oncologist to be retested and was said to have cis in the vagina and the treatment was for 5fu for 10 weeks.
Has any one had these treatments I am worried about ny next visit to the oncologist on Jan 15th for results?
Waiting to hear from you..
As I have read some of the other postings, they mention that the treatment are painful, I hate to say it but they are and then you have to do it to yourself. I have been off the treatments for 2 1/2 weeks and am now starting to feel better but then I do have to back to the gyn/onc on the 15th with more probing another colposcopy and hopefully NO MORE BIOPSPYS...they hurt.

Well that's all that I can think of..but..HAVE HAPPY NEW YEAR

Sandie

5FU Treatments...anyone?

's sjb!

I am so sorry to hear that your road has been tough! It's very frustrating when there are lingering problems that need to be addressed.

I have not had 5FU treatments myself, but I did a search for you and found a list of threads that mention 5FU, and a couple of them seem to have some good information in them. Just Click here for the list of threads. Some of the ladies who have had the 5FU do accept email, so if you don't see a response from them, you can email them yourself by pushing the email button below their posts.

Good luck, sbj! Please let us know how your oncology visit goes and keep us updated on your treatments! You can beat this thing!
