surgery tomorrow

Just wanted to let you know that I will be going in for surgery tomorrow. I think. Do you call it surgery if they don't do anything?
It was supposed to be laser to remove vaginal tumor, but it looks like it will just be so he can get better biospies and streach the vagina out all of the way (glad I'll be asleep). The nurse called a little while ago and said they are waiting on a final path, but it looks like it has crossed over from CIS, so don't expect to have anything removed, but he wants to get a better look before he decides. They told me at pre-op that there was a chance of permenent bladder damage if he did do the laser, due to location, so at least I don't have to worry about that now. Gives me lots of time to worry about the cancer part.
Nurse said we will probably just go to radiation since it seems be growing fairly fast.
I haven't told my husband yet, didn't seem like a good thing to tell him on the phone. And not real sure what to say either, since I don't know what it all means yet.
I'll check in in a couple of days to let you know what we find out.

Saying a Prayer for You

Sounds as if they're being cautious until they know just for sure what is involved, which is a good thing. Best wishes for you.

Thanks for letting us know that you are going in. Extra prayers for you!! You must be so nervous--I hate not knowing exactly what is going on. And even if they find it is cancer, well, then it's likely been caught very early and it's SO much more treatable at an early stage. I will be keeping you in my thoughts tomorrow and every day thereafter until you make it back to let us know what's going on.

Good luck, Pam!
