i have read lots and even talked to people in the chat-room, i see that some form of slip on shoes is a perfect idea to get to wear home for the hospital and even after your home (like going to the doctor, taking a ride in car, ect) - once you have the surgery, you will not be able to tie your shoes.. i went to walmart and got a pair of tennis-shoes with no backs to them, they just slip right on, other suggestions might be some form of clogs.. just thought i would suggest it - i love mine ( i have already tried them out..)

Thanks , that is a good idea. I just used slippers but shoes would be more substantial.

I bought a pair of flat, leather, backless sandals to double as slip ons in the hospital and for after. Thirteen months later, I still love them - they are so comfortable. Best $25 I ever spent at Target!!!

I bought $10 loafers at wal-mart since it is winter. Tennies are not warm enough right now . Pam

I found some slip-on tennies at Payless in the boy's department - I have small feet!!

They have zippers instead of ties, and I don't have to zipper them. Since it rains a bit in Oregon , I can't use the backless for my walks around the cul de sac. My tennies are warm and comfy, and I can just step into them!

My sister gave me a pair of slippers that are mushmellows. They are really thick and squishy and caused me to feel like I was going to fall over when i was in the hospital. I used slipper socks or non at all. I preferred that to hurting myself by being disorinated after surgery. (or maybe I'm that much of a klutz!!!)
