I thought I was alone with this one.
I never expected to see so many posts reguarding a diagnosis of I.C AFTER a hysterectomy!
And as to Dr. indifference??!! Mine NEVER told me they found I.C.
I had to go digging into my medical records. All I knoew was I was not getting any better after my Hyst. I actually began to get worse!!
The Gyn who did the surgury kept telling me that all this pain was "Phantom Pain" or "all in my head" because of the surgery!!!
I finally went digging. I knew a Uro did some tests but I was never "conciously told. I guess he did in recovery but who remembers anything that went on then??
My Uro tests??? POSITIVE for Intersticial Cystitis!!! I am in more pain than I have ever been in!!
Have any of you checked out the IC Network?? they have great support boards there for I.C. It's at http://www.ic-network.com/
You may actually need it when it comes to finding a Dr for this condition. That's been the hardest part for me. Good Luck everyone and just take it one day at a time with this desiese, that's all you can really do.
I don't know if I'm alone on this, but, I was waiting for my Hyst. to END this pain, well, guess not.

I don't have any experience with I.C. I found your post in the Road Less travelled archives which is basically a read only forum. I'm bumping this up so others with I.C. can see and respond to your post.

I can, however, relate to the fact that the hyst hasn't fixed all your problems. I'm almost 4 years post op and still live a life of daily pain. With the help of some kind doctors, pain control, and my wonderful friends here I am learning to live with this. It's not easy, but somehow I am surviving.
