Good lord, Adrite! I feel for ya!

What I don't understand is all this "wait, wait, wait" you are getting in view of how acute this all is. No one can work you in, just amazing! Especially in view of how life-threatening pancreatitis is.

I hear very strongly what you are saying about no more surgery. I feel the same way, been there, on the gurney too many times.

Maybe a trip to the ER is in order. I dunno, your decision. But if they could find a surgeon and get my niece into an OR within 30 minutes of her arriving in the ER with a burst appendix in this small town I live in, surely someone could and can be helping you. I've had emergency surgery before, doc worked after hours, wasn't a biggie. Had another situation where I got acutely ill with an infection that needed incision and drainage, I was in a hospital bed so fast my head spun, demoral in me as soon as I signed the admit papers and in an OR the next day, early Saturday morning.

ER visit might document how acute this is and result in a referral with more oomph behind it. Might gear a doc to make room in his or her schedule for you the next day.
No advice for ya, but I am feeling very upset at another "sistah" getting poor med care.

(((Angie))),
How about a trip to the ER at Vandy?? My last surgery was there & it was an emergency, I was in the OR 45 mins after they found the obstructions...the care I received those 2 long weeks were above standard! They KNOW & UNDERSTAND FMS & RSD...
pancreatitis can be caused by Abdominal trauma or surgery The Gallstones can be tied to HRT The more I learn these things the more frightened I become..I'm praying for you Angie! There are many Angels up there looking out for you
((hugs))

(((Angie)))

I'm so very sorry to read what you're been going through for the past several months, and especially the last few days. 's I don't have any experience with what you've been going through and don't have any suggestions, or advice, except to maybe to see if the younger doc has privileges at another hospital that you feel more comfortable going to, since you did like him and his willingness to spend the time that is necessary to help you.

You're in my thoughts and prayers, Angie. Please let us know what you decide to do.

Sincerely & with Love,

Oh Angie......

I'm just getting caught up on your post after reading your response to mine and after reading all your going thru I to like Sheri's idea. Or the oncologist!!! It sure sounds like a doc that might be able to help here sweetie...

I sure don't have any advice on where to go from here...I can offer lots of prayer tho and I can help hold your hand with our other sisters here...

I hate that you are going thru so much and wish I could do so much more...

lots and lots of and Prayers coming your way....

Hi Adrite, so sorry to hear of your continued troubles, dont' know if you remember me, haven't been on in a long while, but I'm still having major problems too.

Last February I ran to ER with terrible pain/fever/chills, and it was diagnosed as pancreatitis. I was actually the one who figured out WHY I got it - was due to obscure medicine I was taking for my high bp, for a long time. Since then I've been off that med, and not had a reoccurence of the pancreas issues. Had many other problems - lol - but not that one.

Check out all meds on internet to see if any might cause pancreatitis, I did, and even my doc didnt' believe me till he looked it up!

Hope this helps a bit,

Jill

Integrative Medicine

I live in Tucson, Arizona where Dr. Andrew Weil has an integrative medicine clinic at the Univ of AZ medical center. He is nationally famous for all of his healthy style of living. My boss went to him recently and his style of doctoring and recommendations and all that was astounding, different and right on.

He has a website that has many, many links in it where perhaps you can get some info. Check out: Dr.Weil.com

I know this is slim info compared to all of your significant problems, but just thought I would mention it.
