Where's My Period??

I'm in a tizzy now! My last period was December 24th. I usually have a period every 25 days and here it is January 27th; making it 34 days since my last period.

I am scheduled for TAH/BSO on February 4th and was hoping I'd be all done with my periods FOREVER!! What if I start the day before my surgery; do they go ahead??

Recently, I was on a massive dose of antibiotics after my gastroscopy revealed a bacteria in my stomach lining. I wonder if that and the apprehension of upcoming surgery is delaying matters?

My fibroid and uterus are feeling crampy and much pressure lately; I can't wait for this to be over with! Could I also be having what they call annovulatory cycle? I did this a couple years ago; no period for six whole months; then Prometrium got me started again. Sorry for so many questions...I'm just getting ants in my pants! :eyes:

Where's My Period??

They will go ahead with surgery. It is probably stress, ect HOWEVER- you may need to tell the doctor.
Good Luck

menstruation will not cancel surgery

Docs know women with utes menstruate and it is no big deal. You will wear a pad to the OR and wake up with a fresh pad for the post-op drainage.

Stress has been making women's periods late for eons. Maybe you just get to dodge that last one.

Where's My Period??

Linka,

The sisters are right. I should have started my last period the week of my surgery, but it never happened! My dr said she would have done the surgery regardless, but was happy that I hadn't started.

So, I just figured it was a bonus! I'm sure stress was the determining factor - I had been having 10-day periods every 20 days, or so, for a long time.

Hang in there. It won't be long now!

Where's My Period??

Thanks for the replies; I'm almost sure it's a combo of things; stress being the biggie...but I won't worry; like you said, my doc will go ahead with the surgery I'd bet. I just needed some reassurance...

Blessings,
Debby
