defecography

Went for the test this morning. A young resident did a very nice job of explaining everything she was doing and what she was seeing. Tentative good news is that she did NOT see the big bad "monsters" that the urogyn thought she had found. The attending will be reviewing everything, of course, but I'm hoping the resident is correct.

No stage fright, Surfer Girl, even with four people in the room and one of them had a hand on my shoulder the entire time. Barium always make me very crampy, and this was no exception, but other than that little fact the test was very interesting to watch on the screen. The rectocele looks pretty big to my untrained eye, which make sense because it also feels pretty big.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, I was hoping against all hope that the big city specialist was wrong and just maybe I'm going to get lucky for a change!
