I just have to say that I LOVE my Dr.

He was joking with me, cause they had to call him in to hook up my IV cause I have such bad veins. He is a real jokester, if you saw him, you would laugh at his antics, I mean the man has to be in his 70's and he looks so stern, you couldn't imagine him acting goofy and making jokes but he does. I really LOVE him alot. He is GREAT!!

Just had to let you know, he was only joking with me and didn't mean anything by it.

And by the way, I'm feeling very good today, woke up very late, so I'm guessing, I was alittle tired from everything yesterday.

I will keep you posted on my progress.

I am so sorry you had such a bad experience w/ the Taxol! It had to be scary
for you.

Did they give you steroids to take before treatment? I take 3 days of
dexomethazone to reduce reactions. Also take benedryl and more dex. in IV
before my chemo starts. I am on Taxotere/Carboplatin.

Did they tell you to drink up to 3 qts of water the days before treatment to
get your veins in shape? I didn't do so well w/ my veins before surgery due
to dehydration, so make sure I hydrate myself well before chemo.

Hope you do much better during your next treatment! Good luck!

Hi Tammy..

Boy am I sorry that you had the same reaction to the taxol that I did!!!! I do remember how scary that was. It was like a real life ER situation going on all around and YOU are the patient.
JUst to let you know, my doctor and all the nurses assured me that the reaction would only happen the first time, and it did only happen the first time. I never had a problem again. Sooo if you do have to have the taxol maybe next time will be better.

Feel good and relax. The worst is over.. The rest are a breeze

my goodness, I thought I would never get up

The past two days have been a blur to me. All I've done is sleep and get up to go to the bathroom, then sleep again, up to eat sometimes, then back to sleep again.

I thought it would never stop.... I was beginning to think, there is no way, I will be able to work during my other chemo treatments. Then today, I felt much better. I actually spent time with my family, made some sandwiches for my daughter and myself, and actually watched movies and enjoyed myself. Felt better enough to yell at my bf and ds that they didn't clean out the kitty litter. haha.

I guess, the worst is over (I'm hoping) until my next chemo treatment, I'm on week 5 from post-op and being out of work. I will be going back at the end of February. Luckily, I have flex hours, so I can stay home every third Friday to sleep in, if this cycle continues.

Is this the way it is normally, have your chemo treatment then feel good the next day, then for the following two days, stay in bed...

If it is, I know I will be able to handle it, two days every three weeks isn't going to be bad at all. I just have to start getting some frozen dinners ready, I'm tired of chinese, burgers & pizza.
