I'm Home From DX Lap & LSO

Everything went smoothly. Versed helped a great deal. Got there at 9:30 a.m., had paperwork done, changed into the lovely backless gown, IV started and Versed on board all before 10:15 a.m. They came and got me for the O.R. at 10:30 a.m. By 11:15 I was in the recovery room and was discharged at about 12:45

Left ovary was filled with fluid and there was a cyst on it. Yes, the inside of the ovary was filled with fluid (I typed that correctly and you read it right). Also, behind the left ovary there was inflammation, scarring and it was red (I have pictures). Gullbladder and Liver looked great. No adhesions on right side.. or anywhere for that matter. Doc told DH that my left ovary needed to be removed. I feel good; am a little sore.

Am taking HRT: Cenestin 0.9mg tab once a day. Darvocet N-100 for pain. Took a nap this afternoon when I got home; just woke up. Friends invited us over for dinner... of course we accepted. I sure as heck can't cook tonight.

Love to you all. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers!

Wonderful news : I hope this means you have found your exit ramp off the road. It is also very encouraging to hear how well it went and fast too.

What was the recovery time given to you as far as off work etc?

Very curious as you know, so glad it went so well

Recovery Time

DLK and other sisters,

Doc told me no driving for 24 hours, no intercourse for 2 weeks, activity as tolerated but no heavy lifting till I am cleared (at about 2-4 weeks). I do not work, but when I did and I had my right ovary removed.. I was off work for 1 week and then back to full activity.

Everyone is different. Darvocet isn't working for pain.. calling docs office in the morning to get Percocet.

Called and left message for doc.. seems the answering service is taking calls cause all docs & nurses are in a meeting. Gal I talked to said she will be passing the message along ASAP about my pain not being controlled with Darvocet.

Will update later.
