Numbness down L thigh

Hi, I have spoken to my Doctor on this problem but just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem. The numbness down my L thigh almost to my knee. My Doc said it is probable nerve damage from the surgery and that is to expected at times with surgery. It will get better she said but will take some time. Any one else have this probalm and if so how long did it take before it went away? Thanks for any replies..Valerie ( TAH) kept my ovaries .

Numbness down L thigh

Had my surgery Jan. 8. TAH kept ovaries. I also have numbness down the outside of my left thigh. It's much better than it was. As I'm healing it seems to get better. I think it's just a matter of the nerves healing along with everything else. Hang in there!!! Sue

I had the same problem and now it is gone totally. My surgery was 12/2 and it's been gone for at least 2 weeks. Just be patient!

Numbness

Just a quick note to let you know the pain does go away after a few weeks. It took mine about 3 weeks then it was gone.

Leg Numbness

I had the same thing (right thigh down to knee). Had my TAH on 1-13-03. Saw the Dr. last week - it's either a pinched or severed nerve (which will regenerate she says). Dr. says it will completely resolve, but may take two months or more. Not a lot of assurance. It does seem to be a little better, or I'm just getting used to it. Not much comfort in what the Dr. told me.
