Detrol LA Question

I have been taking Detrol LA for a couple of weeks for bladder spasms that just showed up out of nowhere (was having no post op problems for weeks and then whammo).

I am hoping I won't need to be on this medicine forever. I have dry mouth and dry eyes (problem for my contacts).

I have been trying to find some info on this medicine as far as typical legnth of treatment and am not finding anything.

For those of you who have taken Detrol LA, how long did you take it?

Thanks!

Detrol LA Question

I've taken it off and on since my surgery. I passed a kidney stone 3 months after my hyst and stopped taking it, then I took it again when Dr. put me on Vagifem for vaginal atrophy (dryness) and when I got settled, I went off. I take one occasionally now if I have had too much caffeine because my bladder will start up again. I had the dry mouth and eyes too. Like you, I wear contacts, and found myself having to wear my glasses more. I think it just depends on the person and their circumstance. Make sure you discuss all your options with your Dr. He may be able to give you something else or suggest some changes in your diet. Mine said to not eat or drink acidic things, grapefruit, tomatoes, ect. and to lay off the caffeine.
