newbie question? help a little? please????

Hello HysterSisters!!

this is a wonderful board! luckily i didn't need this as everything was smooth for my surgery last year <vaginal>.

HOWEVER!

My girlfriend just had her surgery and they went in abdominally...
she ended up losing both her ovaries...endo...

this was monday 1/27

I brought her home on the 30th...

she takes alot of medication (other problems...fibromyagia, joints, chronic fatigue, etc.) so she is used to the medications that she is on for pain has been on them for years(4-5).

anyways...to the point...

yesterday she started complaining that she felt "weird"...'just not thinking right'...'hard to explain'....

also tho, she has hurt herself twice since coming home...one outrageously STRONG cough from a sound sleep made her scream out loud!... and the medicine cabinet fell off the wall and she had to sort of hold it on its way down, whatever....its danged heavy!!

she had a spot of blood on a tissue last evening...
and her pee is dark....
and she feels funny...

is this normal? it's saturday...should I consider making her go to the emergency room (I would probably have to drag her there!)
do you think it will be okay to let her put it off until monday?????
i am soo afraid because it is sooooo different from the way my surgery affected me....

soooo....is there a friendly voice out there that can maybe toss a few words of wisdom out??????

thanks all and nice to meet ya...i think that she would enjoy coming here after she's feeling better....it would be great for her...

thanks again...

Hi, mcanger,

Please either follow swiftsaw's advice and head to the ER or at least call the doctor immediately. There is no way that anyone on a message board could possibly tell you if she has hurt herself. An unnecessary ER visit is much better than not going and having some serious complication arise.

Please post back after she's been seen by a doctor and let us know what she found out. Tell her we'd love to have her join us here at HS when she feels better.

Yes GO!

I think she needs to be seen NOW! None of this sounds right. Something is wrong. The only thing I can think of that would make her feel weird like that is dehydration. Is she drinking alot of water? Only my opinion of course. Please do get her some help and let us know how's she's doing. Beth

newbie question? help a little? please????

hiya all...
she will not let me take her to the dr yet...
maybe tomorrow...

i was reading on the boards about some of the things she is experiencing...ie....moods(crying, anger, apathy) spasms, vivid dreams that wake her, sleeplessness, etc...depression...

she saw these posts too...says thats her textbook case.

ya know..before this surgery her estrogen levels were between 4-5 times higher than what was the norm...could that make it worse for her?

she says the pain is no worse than it was day one, or two, i guess i have to wait....

this sux...

Hi Mcanger,

Karen is right, please get her to the doctor! This does NOT sound normal and delaying treatment could lead to long term problems. Please also ask her to post directly --- while we can't give medical advice, we can give support and encouragement...
