10 wks postop & bowel problems??

Just when I thought things were getting a lot better, my derriere has to interfere. Sorry to post on such a grotesque subject; but, I was hoping to get some "shared stories" before I call (and hopefully see) the Dr. early this coming wk.

I passed a good deal of blood with a bowel movement yesterday morning, and then some with each bowel movement since. Maybe it's just an internal hemorrhoid? I have no clue what it could be, I've only had the external kind before. My bowel area seems to be disruptive and sore in addition to the bleeding, so, I'm definitely getting it checked out. I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome several years ago; but, I honestly thought it was pain more to do with my female problems than it was to do with my bowels. I have not been constipated nor have I had diarrhea.

Hopefully it's nothing to do with my TAH, I don't think anything could go wrong with my colon, etc. as a result of the surgery, 10 wks postop. I just don't know and I have 50 different things running through my mind as to what it could be.

Lulu,

I'm sorry that you are dealing with this. Please contact your doctor ASAP as he/she is the only one that accurately assess what is going on and the best course of action to take. This being said, I do know that anal fissures (a tear in the tissue of the anus) can cause this type of pain and bleeding. Let us know what your says and do take care!

You are wise to check with your doctor

Of course your symptoms could be as simple as hemmorhoids. Or a tear. But it could be something else, too. My IBS developed into IBD and I'm not alone in this regard. It only takes a second for a doctor who knows about these things to take a look and see what the problem is. If the blood is bright red it means the problem is down low and easy to diagnose.

Hope all will be well soon.

Isn't it frustrating?

I am also 10 weeks post now and it seems like things just keep coming up? Now my belly button is red and swollen from the lap I had a month before my TAH. It hurts!!!!!! I did go to the Dr last week. Mine was out of town so they got me in to a nurse practioner. She said it's not infected and should go away. Well, thats been seven days now and it is no better. I'll give it one more week and then go see my regualar Dr. I agree with the other gals about your problem. Go get help as soon as you can. Probably something minor, but better safe than sorry. Is this ever going to end?? Good luck to you, Frustrated in MT
