stomach pain and follow up tests

Just to get back to all those that showed concern for my latest "pain" - did go to emergency room on Sunday then to gastro dr on Monday. .. Had endoscopy on Wed... seems all the pain and horrible feeling is from another ulcer. The first one was never like this...... It's been about a week of med and rest and this is the first time I feel I well enough to post.

I don't wish this pain on anyone. Thanks for your care and concern everyone.

My latest pain

I've been reading this thread and all the troubles and pains you all have been having. It all sounds very familiar to me, unfortunately. But I wanted to suggest something I tried and that, ahem,.... I will call the "Phantom Technique", to stop esophageal spasms.

When you feel that hard rock start to form in the center of your chest, and you know your esophagus is going to start feeling like someone is wringing it out, put your arm up in the air, bent at the elbow. I use my left arm, make sure my arm is right next to my ear, and then reach down and rub my neck or upper shoulders. Feel that stretch? Usually this will stop the spasms within seconds. And today, when I was wolfing down some soup, I used it when it felt like the food was not going down fast enough (like it's getting stuck midway?).

I hope this works if any of you ever get that feeling. I used to use nitro, but this is free, it's natural, it's quick, and you can do it anywhere (no equipment needed)! What more can you ask?

My latest pain

(((((LaurLaur)))))) I'm so sorry you've been having such a rough time of it

I don't have personal experience with this type of pain, but I'm sure others will come along soon with some input for you. I just wanted to send a few s your way and say I'm sorry you ended up in the ER.

(((((LaurLaur))))))

I'm happy to see your post...I was wondering how you were managing my dear. I'm sorry that you have been feeling so poorly. I had problems with an ulcer pre-hyst that lasted (off and on) for months. Mine was a peptic ulcer...did the docs give you any indication what type yours is?

I hope the meds and continued rest help you to feel better soon. Please let us know how you are doing...we you...

My latest pain

Thanks.... I will most definetly try the stretch. Anything that helps. I was told it was a Gastric Ulcer, right about where I was showing them where it hurt. You got the pain right, that squeezing horrible pain. I am still dealing with the pain on and off - thankfully - and the naseau. Seems like as soon as I do anything, I feel sick again. Any suggestions and tips are most welcome - thanks again.
