castor oil packs

Hi to you all

I was adviced from a physio therapist to try castor oil packs to help break down any surgical adhesions straight after surgery. Well Ill try anything to get rid of them. I did find some articles on castor oil & sure enough they claimed to help. Has anyone tried this approach & if so did they help. Ive ordered some packs & shall give it a go. Will let other adhesion sufferers know if they were of use after my surgery.

castor oil packs

Tina,
I was using the castor oil packs a while back. They did help some with the pain. They are very soothing. I still use them occassionally, but not as much as I was.

I didn't order the kits though, I went to my local health food store and bought some wool flannel and castor oil. I than lay a piece of plastic wrap over a towel and place the soaked wool flannel on top of that. Than put everything on top of the heating pad.

My Osteopathic doctor was the one who recommended the castor oil packs. She said that she advises alot of her endo patients to use them also.

Good luck! Let us know how they work for you.

I put the pack right on my skin

Hi,

I've used castor oil packs for a variety of things. I put the oil soaked flannel (usually double thickness) right on my tummy, then the plastic on top of that, then a towel and a heating pad. It's a little messy to put on and take off and it helps if somebody is around to give a hand. I also got my flannel (make sure it's wool) from a local place and use castor oil with it. This pack keeps indefinitely if you put it in a plastic bag (sealed) and keep it in the frig.
