finally.....

13 days post op and i finally had a descent bowel movement!!!!! as you might recall ihad problems in that area for the first few weeks, i had runny bowel movements(sorry girls) and very very painful, my rectum muscles would contract like i was in labor.... well(drum roll please) this mornings b.m. was painfree and actually solid.. i cannot believe i'm so proud of my first bowel movement.... thats pretty sad huh????
i dreaded going potty cause it hurt wore than the actual surgery did.. i am just dumbfounded at how terrific i feel even at this ealy on... just imagine how i will feel in 6 months!!! whew! ladies the waiting is so the hardest part. i cried, i screamed, i changed my mind. it washorrible. but i am soooo glad its over. i am still taking it easy, no lifting, no housework, no nothing actually, my dh, ds,dd, have been great to me they treat me like royalty!!! its great but so depressing to watch my family doing my chores.. but thank the good lord they are here for me....
i've watched tv, slept, walked around the house, talked on the phone, played online and stared at te walls for days now.. i'm ready to get moving..... i wanted to thank you girls for giving me strength and for your kind words, thoughts and prayers .. i know you all were with me and that helped soo much!!!

Know how you feel!!

I know exactly how you feel. I am 21 days post op today. I have to go get in the shower in just a few minutes to go for my 4 wks check up. Can't wait for him to allow me to do something.

Its been really hard seeing my DH and two sons do all the work around the house. I was fortunate that I live in a great neighborhood. All my neighbors got together and cook meals every nite for the first two weeks. That helped out more than anyone could imagine. It was hard enough on hubby to come home and deal with the kids and house chores. He has been so great. I am really anxious about todays visit. I want to be able to go shopping for my family. I know I can't push the buggy yet, but just to get out of the house and see other people. .............I'm going crazy sitting in the house. If it were not for this site and reading all the post every day, I don't know what I would of done. Well,,,,,,,,just thought I would drop you a line and letting you know that someone out there does care and did read your post.........Remember to take good care of yourself and pamper,,,,,,,,,pamper,,,,,,,,,pamper........is won't last long............before you know it.........we'll be back to our old routines.........................

Cajunlady keep on walking,,,,,it really helps

Awww congratulations! I know *exactly* how you feel...the first real post-op poop is just a wonderful feeling!

And you know, it's not till we're in this situation that we realise how much we appreciate the old bowels...

Sending tons of s for continued smooth recoveries,

First Poop!

Ladies! You've made me laugh so hard!

I just wanted to share that when I finally had my first real BM since surgery...(about 6 days post op!) I did not know whether to "Name It or claim It on my taxes"! LOL!

Walking really helped me get my digestive track back..but I still feel like my bowel, bladder, & tummy are either smaller...or "lower"!

Anyone else feel that way?
Lisa
