Getting ready

I am scheduling my surgery tomorrow. The biggest question I am dealing with is the taking of the hormones, I am 26 and will have a TAH/BSO. I am really nervous and I am trying to get guidance on some really good possibilities for HRT. If anyone can offer some advice or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am not HRT's but can suggest you also post this in the Hormaon Jungle in drop list, and maybe go into chat room. Many women talk about this.
SOrry I cant personally help you on this one- but I hope you find help there.

Getting ready

Hi there!

The Hormone Jungle certainly is a great place to start! However it can be really scary to! Make sure that you do what you feel is right and discuss it with your DR. I am 27 and had a TAH/BSO done on Jan 20th. I am on Syntest HS and Prometrium and doing just fine. The mood swings get a little much at times but getting better the longer I am on them. The hardest part for me to decide was the fact that HRT "seems" to cause breast cancer etc etc. Well part of the reasoning behind my Hyst was to prevent cancer from returning So why would I take something that would cause something else. Anyhow, after discussing it with my DR she said that because I am so young, I need to start on HRT soon and for some time until my body gets used to being in "surgical" menapause. Besides it seems that everything and anything can cause cancer or something these days!!
Just remember to take care of you!

God Bless
