Anyone else have nausea?

I'm wondering if it's the meds my doctor put me on (Bellamine) right after removal of my last ovary (5 days ago). I find that I do really well during the day (as best as can be expected anyway), but by about 6:45 pm, I get hit with a strong wave of nausea. I CAN'T vomit, but the smell of food drives me insane with nausea.

At first, I thought it was the Bellamine, but I take it at 8:00 am and 8:00 pm...maybe I should start taking my evening dose when I get nauseous?

Thanks in advance for your responses. I don't know where I'd be without this board!

Anyone else have nausea?

Hey Chanda, what are the meds prescribed for? I'm not familiar with that med. I had nausea forever. I had so many infections and I got dehyrdated four different times after my surgery. But you are only having it at night. Look at the side effects or call the pharmacist and ask him. It'll get better. beth

Anyone else have nausea?

Dear Chanda,

I agree about calling the doctor or at least the pharmacist and asking about the nausea.

another possibility: are you on estrogen replacement? Nausea can be a generally temporary side effectof beginning estrogen. I know I had it every day at the same time for about 4 days, but didn't associate it then with the estrogen.

Anyone else have nausea?

The Bellamine is to hold off hot flashes. My dr said that it'll take approximately 8-10 wks to get me started on hormones. Right now, all I'm taking is the Bellamine.

My dh and I actually found a possible answer in The Hormone Jungle last night. It said that one of the symptoms of a hot flash is nausea. We decided that I should take my Bellamine in the morning and as soon as I get home from work in the afternoons. (I had been trying to space them 12 hrs. apart, so I KNEW the nausea wasn't from the meds--I hadn't taken it for 10 hrs or so when the nausea would kick in)

I have to call my dr today to schedule my post-op appt anyway. I think that I will mention it then (on the phone, not just at the appt). I'll let you know what he says.

Thanks
