How do you get throught the agony of waiting?

Here I am again. I have an US and then appointment w/my oncologist tomorrow. Hopefully, we will have an action plan. This waiting is driving me nuts!! This has been going on since Jan. 15th when my endocrinologist told me I had to have a TAH/BSO within a week if my CA 125 was elevated.

I'm nervous and b*itchy. I've bitten off all my nails and my hormones are raging. Wow. I hope I can sleep tonight.

Thanks for listening.

PS. How come some are rushed into surgery and I don't even have a date???

Peace

I think most of us would tell you. The waiting and not knowing is indeed just about the hardest part. This is where courage comes into play. Doing what we have to do inspite of great fear.
Hopefully after your visit today, you will have a plan.
Please let us know how the appt. goes.

Waiting is THE Pits!

Karenann is right--waiting and wondering and worrying is the worst part. If there is a good solution to avoiding it, I wish I knew it. Sometimes I just have to tell myself that I need to relax and do something a bit different or just go out for a drive and I keep telling myself that knowing, even if it's not what I want to hear, gives me power. I hope you get your plan today.

I hope your appointment went well and the news you received will help calm your nerves.

I don't really know why some are rushed into surgery and some aren't. I had almost a month between the time of my elevated blood work and the actual surgery. When I asked the Dr he said he thought the cancer had been there for a while so a month wasn't going to make a huge difference.

Over all though, I think it just depends on each persons individual situation and each Dr's methods of treatment.

Please let us know how everything went for you. We'll be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

What to do while waiting: drink wine, get a pedicure (so your toes look nice if you have to go in), go see a long movie, drink more wine, etc. Seriously, stay busy and surround yourself with positvie friends and family members. Good Luck! Jill Sue
