CT Scan Results - OK!

After days of nerves, finally got the results to my CT Scan and everything is OK except for the fluid problem. They classified it as "unknown fluid". Went to my first physical therapy appt. yesterday for the lymphedema treatment. Which my DR says it's lymph fluid build up. The massage treatment is so light. The lymph vessels are just beneath the skin supposedly, so you just barely touch during the massage. Kind of felt like she was some kind of a faith healer or Amish dr or something. My DH and I laughed all the way home (hour drive) and for 30 minutes while I was doing my "self-massage". Really strange! Hopefully it will begin to work before I have to pop myself like a balloon. Thanks for all the support!

Great News!

Wonderful--doing the happy for you. Hope the massage works for the lymphedema as well. Nothing like a good CT scan to make a person happy.

I am so happy that your CAT scan was good.
Now take good care of that lymphedema and do exactly what they have prescribed. A woman in my support group wears a special support garment like panty hose. Did they offer this to you?

There is a bandaging therapy first. She had to order the supplies after taking my measurements. After they get your swelling to where it won't lessen anymore with bandaging and massage, they order your support garments to maintain what they've achieved. She said my swelling should ease over a six week course of therapy, then I'll get my support garments.

What wonderful news!!! I bet it was a BIG relief to get those results. I hope you did something special to celebrate.

The massage treatments sound interesting, hmm, I'm thinking that light of a touch would be ticklish . But seriously, I hope it does its job well on the lymphedema.

Do they expect that the fluid will be re-absorbed then? I remember when I had my pleural effusion, after getting the bulk of the fluid drained, it seemed (at the time anyway) to take quite a while and several CT's later before it showed no more fluid on the scan.

Keep us posted on how things go, we'll be sending lots of warm thoughts and prayers your way.
