Ovarex

I am midway thru treatment for my OvCa. New trial starting near me on Ovarex.
This one you can only have had one series of treatments. I plan on looking into it.
The Ovarex is not a chemo--it works on the CA125. Looks promising in
preventing recurrences or at least lenghting remissions.

Anyone know anything about this drug?

Thanks!

Ovarex

I do know that it is showing promise for pushing back recurrence. I got information by going to a search engine (Google) and typing in Ovarex. Just read one article but there is more out there.

Ovarex

s Cindi

Ovarex does sound interesting. I have been following it's development for the past year. Here is a link to their web site:
www.altarex.com
I believe it is soon to begin phase 3 trials and will be open to many women.
I have learned that with many women their ca 125 reading can become unreliable once on this medicine.
Also always be a bit leary of new drugs being trialed by drug companies and not leading cancer institutes. Stock holders and profits can play too big a part.
That being said, I hope something wonderful comes of ovarex.

Ovarex

Hi Cindi.

When I had my first after chemo meeting with my oncologist, she also mentioned ovarex to me. She said that it was winding down in the trial stages and wanted to know if I would be interested in it. She seemed to be very interested in it.

I have an appointment with her next Wednesday, 5 months after chemo and 2 months before my year anniversary of my hysterectomy and diagnosis. YEAH!!!

I will let you know if she mentions it to me again.
It does sound promising.
