Cramping 5 weeks after LEEP?

I don't have a surgery date yet, I see the onocologist on the 27th of this month. I did see my doctor yesterday about some lymph swelling in my groin but we think it's attributed to the cold I caught from my kids.

I guess a little history might be in order: Had my pap in October, showed ASCUS. Doc did a colpo and a biopsy and results showed CIN II. Was referred to a DO at an OB/GYN clinic who did a LEEP. Results of it showed aedenocarcinoma in situ. The DO has since referred me to a GYN ONO for a discussion about a hyster but the DO will perform it.

My question is this: I have had minor cramping since my LEEP 5 weeks ago. I know it is normal for the duration of the healing time, 3 weeks or so I heard, but still at 5 weeks? She kind of brushed it off, saying cramping was normal after a LEEP, which I understand, but when I asked her if it was normal at 5 weeks she took a look at my cervix, saying everything looked awesome and said everything was fine. She did offer me pain medication however! It isn't bad enough for that, I told her. If it bothers me too much I just pop a few Ibuprophin. Anyway, all you knowledgable ladies who have had a LEEP, how long did you cramp? I realize we are all different but I am just looking for a rough estimate. Thanks ladies!

Cramping 5 weeks after LEEP?

Hey there Teresa,

I had LEEP/cone surgeries and on both occasions my cramping was over after about 1 week max...UNTIL my period was coming, and then the cramps were worse than any I'd ever had. They stopped again when my period started and never returned (until the next LEEP/cone)! Ask your gyn/onc when you see him/her.

Cramping 5 weeks after LEEP?

Hi Teresa!

I never had a LEEP but had two cones. It's been a long time and memory sure does fade, but I think it was no more than a week or so for me also.

Cramping 5 weeks after LEEP?

I'm with chicklet on this one. In fact, I had very little cramping immediately following the LEEP. After the first week I had very strong ovarian pain, and the following week, worse than usual menstrual cramps. These cramps did not feel like my "normal" cramps either.

I felt a lot of cramping with my LEEP. I still feel bloated from it and I had my LEEP Jan 2. I would still check with your doctor about it.
