Home, frigile but made it

Hi

Thanks for all your good wishes for the surgery I had done feb 13th. Got home this afternoon. Opperation went well they managed to do it laproscopy so painful shoulders & bloted tum but much better than open surgery.

The good news is they found no active endo & removed died of scar tissue, so staying off the hormones has worked for the past 6 months. They cleared out adhesions & mobilised my bowel which was stuck to my kidney tubes. I didnt have to have the resection so your prays worked.

The bad news is he thinks there are issues related tot he bowel. So will have to see a gastroncologist, he thinks I have a low mobilising bowel which is spasmodially working cause of the endo damage, surgies. Has anyone had this? what treatments were given? or something going on inside the bowel causing this spasmodic effect so looks like I may have to have a colonoscopy to find out. I burst out crying at this I just cant do another bowel prep ever!! Untctful to tell me this I think a few hours after op.
Anyway Im gonna consentrte on getting over this see him in 3 weeks to discuss this further. I hope this alone brings me enough relief to take a break for a while

Thanks again for your support
Love Tina2 xxxxxxxxxxxx

Tina,

I don't know if this helps any............but if it's the Golytly bowel prep that you are talking about....the stuff that you have to mix up in the gallon jug and drink???? I swore that I would NEVER drink that stuff again. It was just terrible. It made me as much as it made me Go lytely . ( I don't know why they call it that?)

I almost broke down in tears when the nurse at me pre-op appointment told me that I would have to do it again for my surgery in December. I don't know about in the UK, but here in the USA there is an alternative bowel prep..it is made by FLEET brand and you do have to drink only a small bottle but after that it is only a few pills and then a suppository, I found that MUCH easier to handle. I wanted to kiss that nurse.

I just thought I would pass that info along in case you have to have that colonoscopy done. Good Luck. As much as we hate doing these things, we know they are in our best interest. Lots of 's for you.

Tina:

Gentle 's

I'm glad to hear that everything went well & that there was no active endo. Please be sure & get your rest & take it easy for awhile.
I wish I could answer your bowel questions but I dont have much experience there. The alternative prep that Dawn mentioned - I have used it - in fact I've used it on 2 different occasions & it IS much easier on you.
Hang in there - things will start lookin' up for ya !

Welcome home Tina! I'm glad that the surgery went well. Congrats on the no endo!

I have lots of experience with bowel problems, but unfortunately no answers.
