Have a question about radiation

I was going to post this in my last post but brain fog! Forgot.

I was just wondering how many radiation treatments do you go thru? Is it in a short period of time?
I'm probably jumping ahead of myself but you know what they say knowledge is power.

radiation alone

Usually 25 radiation treatments is the norm. You may have some boosters at the end, that varys from doctor to doctor & patient to patient.

I'm currently getting radiation treatments for DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) -- pre-cancer condition or very, very early breast cancer (depending on who you talk to). The norm for this is 28 treatments to the whole breast and 5 to just tumor area.

I was a little worried going into it, but not having any serious problems. My skin is very pink / light red and dry, but not at all sore or itchy. Fatigue is often another side effect. No fatigue here. No other problems. Just six treatments remaining.

Will not miss the drive every weekday to the hospital, but will miss the wonderful people in the Radiation Dept.
