2nd chemo treatment - yippee uneventful
Well, I had my port put in on Monday, which hurt like heck on Tuesday. I also had some vomitting. Today, my port didn't hurt anymore, but I still had some pain if I was to pick up my right arm all the way up, so I didn't do that
I went in for my chemo, and it went by uneventful. Thank goodness for that. I also found out I am having Carboplatinum and Cytoxan.
I still have all my hair, figures, after I was all prepared for it to come out both mentally and physically (wigs, hats etc) I told everyone at work, when I got back, they wouldn't know what I would look like, cause I wanted all types of wigs. Might as well be that long curly auburn haired woman I always wanted to be
I want to thank all of you for your kind words and prayers, I know that is what pulled me through this week. Hopefully, my next Dr's apt in two weeks will also yield good news as before.
I even had my BF take pictures of me receiving my chemo for my cancer scrapbook album I'm working on. I've taken pictures of the radiation machine, and while I was in the hospital (pretty scary pictures) and of the ct scanning machine. Also, scanned that nasty white stuff I have to drink... I LOVE to scrapbook, so why not do an album about this event in my life?
Anyway, sorry this post is so long, just wanted to let you know about my uneventful 2nd treatment. Thanks again to all of you, yall are a great group of women!!

I am glad that your treatment went by uneventful. I know how that port feels. Felt like a truck ran over my shoulder when they put mine in, but it quit hurting after a day or so. But, mostly I am glad that this treatment didn't make you feel as bad as the first

Glad Second Went So Well
Each one is different but usually they're quite manageable. Sorry you had port pain--I never had any with mine at all--the local wore off and that was it. Ports do make it easier. The carboplatin will not make your hair thin or fall out but cytoxan has a habit of doing that. Now--let's get these done and that cancer cured!

I'm sorry to read your port insertion was so painful. I guess I was lucky in that regard. Just slightly sore for two days and then perfectly fine.
That's wonderful that your hair is holding up so well. Good for you!!!
And I am glad to read that your latest chemo went off without a hitch.
You have a wonderful attitude. Keep up the good work.
