TVT - Recovery

Hi Ladies

I did a search within the site on TVT and have found out loads of information from past posts, this site is just the best!! wanted to say a big THANKYOU for making me feel alot more positive about going for the surgery (13th March), didnt seem to mins ago i was saying it was 6wks off, going for my pre op on 4th March, woke this morning feeling scared and freaking out!

Just need to know how long you have to be off work for, my job involves lifting/delivery, and any questions i should ask at pre op.

Thankyou again

Hi Ruthie your DR is the one who will need to clear you to return to work... how long you will be off work depends on your particular surgery results and the amount of lifting your job involves. Six weeks is average.

As far as lifting restrictions go, you may have a pretty strict restriction (mine was 10lbs) for several weeks, and you may also have some permanent restrictions. The more careful you are, the more likely you will not jeopardize the results of your surgery. Please make sure your DR thoroughly understands the nature of your job before clearing you to return to work.

Hope this helps!
