Anal/vaginal atrophy

I have had extream itching for months! I have seen several Drs.
One said it was fungus infection. The medicine did not help. I had a biopsy done, and was told it was atrophy. I was prescribed steroid cream and was told to use it the rest of my life or it could turn to cancer. Has anyone had this experience??

Anal/vaginal atrophy

When I had to quit taking hormones the only significant problem I had was vaginal atrophy. It was very dry and using astroglide did not help and actually made me feel more itchy.

I quit hormones because of endo and was afraid to use hormones. Now I use Vagifem with is a very low dose of estrogen that is placed in the vagina twice a week. It is supposed to stay mainly contained to that area and because it is such a low dose should not stimulate any endo growth. So far it has worked wonderfully.

This is not a steriod cream, just a little estrogen.
