Funny question but - post chemo facial hair??!!

I finished my chemo a couple of months ago and am doing great. Hair, eyelashes, brows, etc., are all coming back. Yeah! However, I am noticing that my face is sprouting hair too! Fortunately it is light and fine (at least for now), but it is in places I have never seen it before - underneath chin and jaw line, across cheekbones, side of face, forehead, and yes, upper lip :artist:. Yikes! I look like a downy duck!

I though it might be hormonal, but I am five years past menopause. Has anyone else experienced this after chemo?

It's Normal.

This happens to a lot of women post chemo--a fine down. It will taper off but nothing unusual is going on. Big nuisance!

I smiled when I saw your subject because I too had a face loaded with peachfuzz after completing chemo. I attributed it to all the steroids during chemo. I was sooooo fuzzy. Little white hairs all over myface. You almost hate to wear powder because it lays on the fuzz. It seemed to disappear proportionately as my head hair returned.
Just bear with it. I promise it goes away.

Funny question but - post chemo facial hair??!!

Thank you for asking this question!!!
I had the facial hair as well. My friends called it my "lambchops" as it looked like I had long white Elvis sideburns!
I wasn't sure what it was - thought it had something to do with no more hormones.
I just noticed the other day that it was gone! Poof, just like that!
Glad to know what it was.
Now they are starting me on testosterone so we'll see if I REALLy grow Elvis sideburns!

Funny question but - post chemo facial hair??!!

As usual, the Hyster Sisters have the answers!! Guess this is just another of those side effects they neglect to tell you about. I felt silly asking the question but I'm glad I did. All I could think of is what now - total face wax? Ouch! Nice to know it will go away. I'll just have to put up with being fuzzy for awhile.

Thanks all

Oh yeah!!!! I remember it all too well. My sister's just thought my peach fuzz was hillarious! As time passed, it layed down so I guess its now just normal female facial hair, whatever that may be.

Oh, please don't feel silly asking these types of questions, NO question is ever silly around here! Its really amazing how these treatments can effect sooooo many areas and in such strange ways for some.

Hang in there, you'll soon be "fuzz-less"
