Embarassing Q about hemerhoids, surgery, and adhesions

I had my emergency BSO last Aug, had lots of bleeding complications afterwards (the 5 month period) that didn't respond to hormone treatment and just got an endometrial ablation last Friday. I had some mild hemerhoids when I was pregnant 5 and 9 years ago but nothing since then. Nothing with the first surgery either. I have them now, however, just since Friday, and they don't hurt or itch but they bleed alot when I go to the bathroom. The ablation surgery is pretty mild, as surgeries go, no cutting, short time span (I was only out 45 minutes - surgery lasted 15). I can't think of any reason why it would do this to me. I do know that my adhesions are terrible, however, the worst my Doc (11 yrs practicing) has ever seen. Worst anyone had ever seen at my first surgery (they were there to begin with from the infection that caused all the trouble, I'm sure the surgery made them worse). I often have had pain when going to the bathroom and I assume it is adhesions. My uterus is stuck to both the bladder and the bowels almost with full contact, which is why it didn't come out last Aug (I was too ill to risk a nick and spreading of the infection).

Anyway, should I be concerned? I am in no pain, no fever, no sign that anything is wrong except that I'm bleeding bright red when I "go". Will this just heal on it's own? I confess that I'm only asking to placate my DH who is horrified. I would rather believe all is ok and wait. I know if I call Doc, he'll send me to a Proctologist or some specialist (?) and I would just as soon not have anybody else looking under the hood just now!

{{{{{ Steph }}}}}

Wow, you have certainly had your share of difficulties! First off, let me send you a great big for all you're going through.

And, as for the question regarding the bleeding, well...in my opinion, I'd call your doctor just to be sure. I can empathize when you say you'de rather not have another doctor "looking under the hood"...but, you don't want to become anemic either. Perhaps you can speak to the nurse???

Let us know how things turn out....

(((Steph))), I understand how you feel about not wanting any more poking or prodding, but I agree with (((Lori)))... you really need to let the DR know about the bright red bleeding, that's not good! Please give the DR's office a call, and let us know what you find out, OK?

Bleeding has stopped... for now anyway.

And I'm already anemic from the past 5 months of vaginal bleeding so I am on iron (feosol). I am going to let it be for now, I see Doc on the 19th for a surgery follow-up exam and I'll mention it then. Unless it starts up again, then I'll call, I promise. Also, I am checking to make sure that the blood isn't from deeper inside my bowels (don't ask how...). So far, so good. DH now thinks it was a small tear in a hemorrhoid (learned to spell it!) at the "exit" that has now healed. I used some Preparation H so let's hope that's all for now.

I am moving on the 4th of April, I need to be 100%! Or at least 55%, that'd be about 40% more than I have been lately - L.O.L.

Thanks for your sympathy and not being too grossed out!
