HRT

Thanks, Dorrie. My gyn onc certainly doesn't seem to be against any estrogen for cancer survivors since he gave me a prescription for estradiol. I haven't filled it because I'm more worried about it than he is and want to see if the acupuncture and Chinese herbs I'm taking will help first. I know what you mean about those middle of the night hot flashes! I wake up every night between 3 and 4am. I could live with that easier than the depression and irritability though. Then there's the lack of libido and vaginal dryness. If I were single, that wouldn't matter so much, but I'm not. I hope I can get back to something approaching normal! Thanks for your input!

I did not find the oral estradiol (which was what my gyn onc gave me) did anything for the vaginal dryness. It did quell the hot flashes eventually though.

I'll be interested to see how the accupuncture works for you

HRT

The gyn oncologist prescribed the oral estradiol for me, but my regular gynecologist had said something about a low dose patch if I wanted to try HRT. I think if the acupuncture doesn't work, I'll call her and talk to her about that and the vaginal dryness issues, etc. I want to give the acupuncture another week or 2 though. Since the treatment I had Tuesday where he used some different points, I haven't been depressed or had a headache. Hope it lasts!
