gas, backpain, side effects of prolapse?

I'm off work again because of my bladder prolapse side effects
of excessive gas and backpain. My TVH was in November last year and I was great for 7 weeks with no gas or pain then after the cystocele I have both back again. They must be related to the prolapse. I'm quite depressed right now but will see my gyn next Monday about a possible repair. Did anyone else have these problems with their cystocele? I'm thinking I must have a rectocele now too, everything has just fallen and I can clearly see the prolapse coming out. My gyn was supposed to fix this but claimed he didn't think it was necessary at the time of the operation. I have to get this fixed because I certainly can't live like this.

hugs

Hi,
I understand how you feel. I developed a rectocele 8 months post-op from my hyst and bladder repair. I had gas, back pain, constipation, bloating ect. from the rectocele. It was very disappointing, but I had the surgery - a posterior repair and a lap for adhesions and it did help the rectocele problem. I'm back again now 13 days post-op from a bladder sling surgery because the Burch I had with my hyst had failed. Prolpase is awful to deal with. I understand not wanting to live with it. I sure didn't. It's miserable to recover, but in my mind more miserable to put up with the symptoms and not at least trying to get it fix. Post and let us know what your doctor says. I will keep you in my prayers.
Love, Light, Blessings

gas, backpain, side effects of prolapse?

I had a rectocele repaired at the same time as my hyst and yes, it was causing increased bloating, constipation, back pain and resulting in poor posture. Between these symptoms, the feeling that I was sitting on a fence and like I had a tampon about to fall out of me when I walked, the prolapse was causing almost more problems than the fibroid!!! I'll be thinking of you on Monday as you go to your gyn. Hopefully he/she'll have good news for you.
