Pain? Now????!!!!

Hi everyone! I'm not exactly new to the forums, but I haven't been here for ages! But alas, I need help! I am 13 months post-op, and for about the last month, I've been having sharp, "pulling" pain in the vicinity of my left ovary. I haven't had any pain at all since about 5 weeks out, until now. Has anyone else had this, and if so what was it? I just want to know if it is worthy of a trip to the , or if it is relatively normal.
Thanks All....

Pain? Now????!!!!

Hi Kelly,

I had both of my ovaries removed, so have no personal experience to share. However, I've seen posts from women who developed similar pain at some point during their recovery (or after) and sometimes the pain was a result of cysts.

Please do see your Dr. Although other women have had cysts, that doesn't mean that you do. Any new pain is worth discussing with your Dr. to be on the safe side.

Best wishes and s

Pain? Now????!!!!

Hi ((((Kelly)))) Sorry for the late reply.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this new pain. I've kept both my ovaries and have had this time of pain once or twice since my hyst. I did go back to my doctor, however, since it took two weeks before I could have an appointment , it was only suspected that the pain was caused by a cyst.

I've also had these sharp pains on my right side, and they are cyclic, however, in that case, they are caused by a spastic colon. Neither myself nor my doctor know why it's cyclical, however I'm guessing that it could be increased water retention resulting in these pains

Whatever the cause of your pain, I agree that you should give your doctor a call, just to be on the safe side.

Sending lots of healing s your way. Please keep us informed.
