3rd chemo went okay

Well, they decided to go ahead and give me the taxol at the Dr's office. They had the big first aid kit ready and waiting, they had the oxygen tanks ready and waiting. And guess what? Didn't need any of it. It went by uneventful. The ladies there were somewhat decipointed. It think they wanted to see a show. Of course, this taxol stuff whipped my butt. I've been in bed since, and am just barely getting up today. I know as you go further it gets worse, but geeze wheeze, how does anyone go back to work on this chemo stuff?

Just letting you guys know, that I'm okay and resting fine at home.

Tammy,

I a glad to hear the taxol was uneventful this time. I hope you recover quickly. The 2nd and third day after treatment were always the worst for me. My 5 th and 6th treament were easier on the 4th one wich really wiped me out, so maybe it doesn't always gets worse.

Glad the Chemo Went Well

I'm glad there was no emergency and that it went well. I have never had Cytoxan as you indicate, so I can't answer anything about it. I could work with minimal absence on carbo/taxol. Just remember we're all different and react differently to each chemo. Just keep on keepin' on.

's Tammy!

So glad to hear that your chemo went by uneventfully! Hopefully, in a couple of days you'll be feeling better and will be able to get back to work. Let's hope this taxol does the trick!

How well I remember the feeling, Tammy...... and yes, I did work thru the entire chemo process.

The second and third day after the chemo were the worst for me. That is why I would get my treatments on a Thursday, Friday I was ok and then Sat. and Sun were non existent for me. But on Monday, I was well enough to go to work.

As the treatments progressed, unfortunately, the "bone pain", as I referred to it, became worse for me. Someone told me that the chemo is cumulative, in your body and that is why. I also had taxol and carboplatin.

But, i will tell you, it does get better, so hang in there and relax whenever you can.

s Tammy

I am relieved that the taxol infused without any problems.
And you no longer have that worry about future chemos.
I got my taxol and carboplatin on Thursdays, felt great on Friday, and then just yucky over the weekend. By the sixth treatment the yucks seemed to hang around until Wednesday.
But like Margaret says, we are all so different.
Avoid crowds.

I'm so glad to hear your treatment went well and you didn't experience that reaction to the Taxol again.

I hope you're beginning to feel a bit better and you are able to get some rest.

Well, I feel 100% better today!! whew, glad that is over....

I even shaved my head today. My 4yr kept saying, bye bye mama, I kept telling her I'm not leaving, and she said, but your hair is. She is so excited, she wants me to start wearing a wig NOW... I told her I wanted to wear hats, she said, when I pick her up from school tomorrow, can I wear the wig so she can show her friends my new hair.

She is such a riot!!

Anyway, feeling way better today..... yippee....
