radiation side effects

I had a hysterectomy for uterine cancer 1C (it had gone 3/4 thru the uterine wall), stage 3. I have had 15 of 28 external radiation treatments. I have had a sensitive bladder and an irregular bowel, with diarrhea starting yesterday, for which I took imodium. I'm assuming I will continue to have these problems for the duration of the treatments, but I was wondering how long after I complete the treatments that these side effects take to resolve. I am leaving on vacation the day after I've completed the radiation. Thanks!

radiation side effects

I still have some problems with bowel and bladder, but it is very manageable. I dont have diarhea per say, but it isnt like it used to be. Which is good I dont have to worry about constipation. My bladder just has a mind of its own, it is like when it wants to go gotta be close to a bathroom.

But you do have to keep in mind everyone is different. Some people maybe just like they were before.

Also, I do hope you have fun on your vacation, but dont expect your symptoms to disappeare over nite, I think it took about a week to get to where I am now, maybe more maybe less.

But it took me about two weeks to get over the symptoms. Of course the immodium does work wonders.

Good luck on your vacation!!
