oestregen cream.. Anyone prescribed it?

Hi Sheila!

I don't have any personal experience with the cream but have used a couple other meds for dryness.

I've tried both Vagifem and now am using a Estring, both are topical types of treatments. When I was having alot of trouble with the dryness and it got to a point where it was pretty painful. First I tried the Vagifem which worked well but I was still experiencing the dryness. My new Dr switched me to the Estring which I've used for about 3 months now. So far, its working much better since I don't have to try to remember anything except getting a new one every 3 months.

Both of these are said to be safe to use with Cancer patients. The estrogen is absorbed directly and not supposedly into the blood stream. I was pretty nervous at first but the relief from the pain and burning outweighed the nervousness (not to mention getting good blood work too )

Maybe something along this line might be of some help to you as well. You might also want to post over on the Hormone Jungle, the gals there have alot of experience with the different types of hormones available.

I hope you find something that'll help, I know its not a pleasant feeling.
