RollerCoaster Emotions

My nerves are so shot. One day I'm excited, even earlier this morning I was, the next I'm so tired of waiting that I'm snapping at everthing and everyone in my path.

I have 8 pets. I'm so stressed I want to kick my cats and make my dog stay out allll day so I don't have to take her outside to do the grass inspection anymore. And I love my pets!

I have 2 children and I have put ME and not THEM into time-out.

Yikes, maybe it's because Aunt Flo is a little off on her timing. (understatement of the year).

I have to drive this morning to run some errands, and roads are horrid down here with traffic. I'm saying a prayer that road rage doesn't invade my psyche!!!

Gosh, I'm normally so.....NORMAL!!! Who is this freaked out mad-woman?? Surely not me....can't be....

I keep reading that waiting is the hardest part....well I believe it, it can't be worse than this. Thank goodness I'm only 2 weeks away. Oh if there was a magic potion for this princess to make the time fly by....

Thanks for the vent. I needed that.

(((((((Pam)))))))))

I'm sorry you're going through this emotional rollercoaster right now, but I do love the way you describe it. It was interesting to read.

Many of us have been through all the emotions as you described. So, please take comfort in knowing you're not alone and that we understand. So, you come here and vent anytime you need it.

Like you said, waiting is the hardest part.

s,
Pam

Know how you feel

I'm scheduled for a TAH/BSO the day after you and I'm starting to go through the same things. Look cool and calm on the outside but inside I'm a nervous wreck! I find myself taking alot of deep breaths throughout the day just to try and stay calm. Also find myself reading this board more and more. Just wanted to let you know that your not alone. Hang in there the wait is almost over!

You're not the only one! My moods had gotten so out of control a few weeks ago, I finally broke down and asked my doc for something. He put me on Zoloft, and it seems to be helping. I attribute it to nervousness and also being on Lupron with no HRT at the moment.

I've also learned to knit recently, and that helps me to chill out as well. Currently knitting a cover for my tummy pillow in green and purple!!!

Hang in there! I am!

Dear Pam

Know exactly what you mean. I am having TAH/BSO the day before you. Have my pre-op tomorrow.

I am a complete basket-case. Keep obsessing about the strangest things. Dirty cups, full bins, everyone else's (not mine) time-keeping, underwear - UNDERWEAR - thats my main problem - keep going into shops to buy big pants and just cant do it. How stupid is that? After all I can chuck them away in a couple of months! My boss suggested I pretend they are a Mothers Day present - poor mother!!

Anyway, I will be thinking of you and everytime I get stressed I will know that you too are fighting the urge to kick the cat

hang on in there, Wendy

The waiting is absolutely awful isn't it, particularly as "the day" draws near. It's only natural to be nervous and anxious before surgery of any kind, particularly major surgery like this. Don't be too hard on yourselves - share your fears with anyone who'll listen. Rant and rave. Let it out! Here's a great place!

The night before I felt rather surreal, I kept thinking that I would start the next day "intact" and finish the day with something important gone forever. Couldn't get that repetitive weird though out of my head. Felt very zombie - like. My friend's husband drove me to the hospital very early next day and we talked about anything but the operation. Never have I been so fascinated with fishing! I was first off the rank. Lucky not to have to wait too long on the actual day.

My first feeling upon waking from the anaesthetic was sheer elation that it was finally over! I kept telling the nurse I couldn't believe how great I felt. A huge weight had been lifted (literally, with a 20 wk uterus!) The surgery pain was well under control, nothing as bad as I expected. The fear of something is always worse than the reality.

I know it's almost impossible, but try to think of other things! And have faith that all will go well. It won't be as bad as you think. I decided not to read the boards before my op as I got the info I wanted off the Hints, and didn't want to scare myself unduly with reading about problems etc. However, after the op it was just fantastic to come here and see how everyone was doing.

Good luck to all ladies in waiting. It's wonderful being a Princess!

love to you
papaya, very happy about my hysterectomy.
