Aunt Flo's gotta go...

I am miserable. My TAH is scheduled for Thursday and I just started a killer period. Last month was so calm and uneventful I questioned whether I should have the surgery or not. Now there isn't a doubt in my mind. Usually I practically OD on ibuprofen but can't take it due to the surgery date coming up so I'm using Tylenol which definately does NOT work on this pain or the clots.

I am up late tonight because of my cramps and the "LISTS" running through my head. "Are the bills paid? Did you pack this in your bag? Will I be able to get ALL the cleaning done that I've been working on for two months? Do I have time to re-landscape the front yard in two days?" blah, blah, blah. I got up and reevaluated our household budget and paid all the bills I could. I've almost finished sewing the drapes for my front room (we remodeled a couple of months ago and I was sure I had plenty of time to finish the drapes).

I am trying to cram as much as possible into three days...including DS's baseball game on Tuesday night. I don't think this is going to work. Did I mention I work outside the home and have to train my temp for the next two days as well?:hair:

Something has got to go.... Would this be considered the last minute panic?????

Thanks for listening

Hi Terri

Sounds like you are doing the right thing, keeping busy! You'll have plenty of time to rest in hospital at least! It's wise to be prepared, make lists and get things organised so your hyperactivity sounds quite natural to me. It's a great way of distracting yourself from nervousness. Just think, in next to no time it will all be over and you'll be on the road to recovery. Wave Aunt Flo a "fond" farewell, it's great to see her go believe me.

Good luck for Thursday, it will all go fine.
Love to you

YUP

Sounds like last-minute AAAAGH! to me....I have the same thing creeping up on me, my LAVH is April 1, next Tuesday. BUT ALAS! I am so busy this week, I don't know how I'll even think. Today is daughter's doctor appointment, in the middle of the day so no school for her, Tomorrow is my husband's surgery consult 2 1/2 hours away (he is getting a gastric bypass), visiting family while we are in their area, Wednesday is my son's District spelling bee, I have nerves FOR him, :-), Thursday is my post-op, Friday's cleanup day because I have family visiting Saturday.

So the way I figure it, Friday and Saturday I'll be attached to my faithful swiffer, Sunday I'll be getting nutty and Monday I'll be a basket case.

PLUS we are showing our house, so house has to stay clean for those last-minute "We're in the area, blah blah blah" calls from realtors, that's always fun picking up after 2 kids and 8 pets on a moment's notice.

AND NOW, I cannot sleep. Been sleeping like a baby, but not the last couple nights. Going to bed later, waking up about 4 a.m. with nothing but thoughts of surgery, and all the what-if's....I usually just give up on sleeping, and get up and find something quiet to do (THANK GOD FOR THIS BOARD!!)

Well I'm blathering on like a nut, which just confirms, for those of us who have surgery looming on the calendar, this is a common thing. But hard to get through nonetheless.

Please keep posting and let me know how it went! We'll all be watching! Good luck to you and .

soon we'll be punctured rincess:
